Since its inception, Saide’s OER Africa has worked with our partner higher education institutions to embed the concept of OER into all their institutional thinking. Some institutions have developed specific OER policies, while others have clauses related to the development, use and re-use of OERs in their intellectual property policies. This section showcases African OER policies, strategies and exemplars of other policies for African higher education institutions to refer to.
The Open Access policy will provide our scholars the opportunity and platform to promote their academic work by enhancing access to research outputs. Further, the policy will enhance the visibility and impact of our research output and archiving of our
scholarly materials.
