This section provides links African repositories and international repositories to which African Higher Education Institutions may contribute. This collection of OER and open access repositories was collected in relation to our themes, namely, Agriculture, Health, Teacher Education and Foundation Skills. There are also however repositories covering all subjects.
Merlot Teacher Education (Multimedia Education Resource for Learning and Online Teaching)
Merlot Learning materials offers educators a variety of content to choose from to use to construct or improve lesson plans. These topics include, reading, writing, research, statistics, neuroscience and much more and is thus suitable for all learner development stages.

Teachers Without Borders promotes the free and open use of collective wisdom generated by teacher leaders from every culture to help all teachers work more effectively. In essence they provide training material for teacher by teachers to help accelerate the learning process and improve classroom conditions and involvement
OpenStax CNX (previously called Connexion)
Openstax is a Rice University Initiative where educators can view and share free educational material in small modules that can be organized as courses, books, reports or other academic assignments. It offers subjects such as Calculus and statistics, biology, chemistry, economics, physics and many more
Mindset Learn
Mindset Learn supports learners and teachers in formal schooling with a focus on Grades 10, 11 and 12 and the Maths, Sciences, Social Sciences and Finance clusters of subjects. All content is produced to the highest educational and production standards and is aligned with the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS). Content is in video format and is supported by PDF notes and computer based interactive lessons.
African Virtual University (AVU) OER
African Virtual University offers OER's that are linked to specific courses. There are 73 published modules of ICT Integration in Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Education, ICT Basic Skills and B.Ed. professional courses available in 3 languages, English, French and Portuguese.
Directory of Open Access Journals DOAJ (Open Access Research Site)
DOAJ is a community-curated list of open access journals and aims to be the starting point for all information searches for quality, peer reviewed open access material. It contains approximately 10000 open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social science and humanities.
OpenDoar (Open Access Research Site)
OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories. They provide tools and support to both repository administrators and service providers in sharing best practice and improving the quality of the repository infrastructure
OER4Schools (University of Cambridge)
OER4Schools is a practical professional development (PD) programme for school-based teacher education, supporting teachers to embed interactive methods of teaching and learning into classroom practice through the exploitation of mobile technologies.
